RMT announces more ScotRail strikes

Industrial action is set to continue on ScotRail through November, after recent ballots reconfirmed the willingness of staff to strike on Sundays in the RMT's dispute over payments for working rest days. The union's general secretary Mick Lynch said: 'Our members are standing firm across Scotland again in this on-going fight for workplace justice. We have had no option but to confirm further strike action by our conductor members right through to the end of November. It's about time those calling the shots in Scotland took responsibility for Britain’s longest running industrial dispute which is over the basic issue of pay equality on Scotrail. With COP26 looming large it's time to settle this dispute which shames Scotland.' ScotRail has previously said that its financial situation does not allow any rises in pay.
