Night Tube strike talks restart today

Talks between London Underground and the RMT in the dispute over Night Tube staffing are due to restart at ACAS today. Unless an agreement is reached, the weekend strikes are set to continue disrupting Underground services during the run up to Christmas.

Strike ballot announced in reaction to TfL job cut plans

The RMT has announced a strike ballot of more than 10,000 staff at Transport for London in reaction to an announcement that between 500 and 600 jobs are to be lost at stations. TfL said 250 vacant posts would not be filled, while a further 250 to 350 staff will not be replaced when they retire or resign. It is reported that TfL has been briefing union representatives today. The news follows yesterday's warning from Mayor Sadiq Khan that if no funding agreement for TfL is reached with the government by the end of this week, thousands of 'much-needed' new homes might not be built.
